YOU'VE SEEN RESIN ART. NOW IT'S YOUR TURN TO MAKE IT.

Learn the basics of working with resin while creating THREE beautiful sets of handmade coasters using three very different techniques.

The Swipe • The Geode • The Flower Bloom

No previous resin experience needed.

No complicated equipment.

No need to spend hours trying to piece together what you've found on YouTube.

Just a clear, beginner-friendly introduction to resin, taught through three projects you can actually make yourself.

Have you ever looked at resin art and thought...

“I'd love to try that.”

Maybe you've seen those beautiful glossy resin pieces and wondered how people create them.

You've watched a few videos.

You've saved a few posts.

Maybe you've even bought some resin...

…and then realised you weren't quite sure where to start.

Which resin should you use?

How do you measure it?

How long do you mix it?

How do you get those gorgeous cells?

How do you create a geode effect?

How on earth do people make those beautiful flower blooms?

And what happens if it all goes wrong?

If that sounds familiar, you're in exactly the right place.

WELCOME TO YOUR FIRST RESIN PROJECTS

I've created this beginner-friendly course to take away the overwhelm and help you discover just how enjoyable working with resin can be.

Rather than throwing a mountain of resin information at you, we'll learn the essential foundations while actually making something.

And not just one thing...

You'll create THREE different coaster designs.

🌊 THE SWIPE

Learn a simple swipe technique and discover how to create beautiful cells and movement in your resin.

💎 THE GEODE

Learn how to work with a mould and build up a beautiful layered geode-style design.

🌸 THE FLOWER BLOOM

Learn how to create the gorgeous bloom effect and watch your design develop as the resin moves.

Three projects.

Three techniques.

One course designed to give you the confidence to start creating with resin.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

🌟 RESIN BASICS

Before we start creating, I'll take you through the fundamentals you need to understand.

You'll learn about:

  • Resin and hardener

  • Mixing ratios

  • Measuring

  • Working time

  • Curing

  • Temperature and your working environment

  • Choosing the right materials

  • Basic resin safety

Everything is explained in straightforward language, without unnecessary jargon.

🥄 MEASURING & MIXING

This is one of the stages that can make beginners nervous.

I'll show you how to approach it properly, including:

  • Measuring your resin

  • Following the manufacturer's recommended ratio

  • Combining resin and hardener

  • Mixing thoroughly

  • Scraping the sides and bottom of your mixing cup

  • Avoiding unnecessary bubbles

  • Knowing when your resin is ready to work with

You'll understand why you're doing it, not simply be told to copy the steps.

PROJECT ONE

🌊 THE SWIPE COASTER

We'll start with the swipe technique.

It's a fantastic beginner project because you can create beautiful movement and cells without needing complicated equipment.

You'll learn how to:

  • Prepare your coaster

  • Plan your colours

  • Mix and colour your resin

  • Position your colours

  • Create the swipe

  • Encourage cells to develop

  • Work with the resin while it's within its working time

  • Allow your piece to cure

  • Finish your coaster

And you'll start to understand how small changes in colour, movement and technique can create completely different results.

PROJECT TWO

💎 THE GEODE COASTER

Next, we'll create a completely different style using a coaster mould.

You'll learn how to:

  • Prepare your mould

  • Plan your geode design

  • Choose and combine colours

  • Build up layers

  • Create the geode effect

  • Add detail and interest

  • Allow your piece to cure

  • Demould and finish your coaster

This project will introduce you to the idea of building a design in layers rather than simply pouring resin into a mould.

PROJECT THREE

🌸 THE FLOWER BLOOM COASTER

Finally, we'll create a beautiful flower bloom design.

You'll learn how to:

  • Prepare your materials

  • Choose your colour palette

  • Prepare your resin

  • Create the bloom

  • Understand how the resin moves

  • Develop your design

  • Allow it to cure

  • Demould and reveal your finished piece

And this is where you'll really start to see the magic of resin.

You pour...

You wait...

And then you get to see what you've created.

BUT WHAT IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG?

Let's be honest.

Resin doesn't always behave exactly as we expect.

And when you're starting out, that can be enough to make you think:

“I've completely ruined it.”

Don't panic.

That's why I've included a dedicated troubleshooting section.

THE “DON'T PANIC!” RESIN GUIDE

We'll look at some of the common problems beginners encounter, including:

  • Bubbles

  • Sticky or soft resin

  • Dust or unwanted particles

  • Uneven results

  • Colour problems

  • Cells that don't develop as expected

  • Bloom effects that don't behave as planned

  • What to check when something hasn't gone to plan

Because learning resin isn't about getting everything perfect the first time.

It's about understanding what happened and what you can do differently next time.

“BUT CAN'T I JUST WATCH YOUTUBE?”

Yes.

There are hundreds of free resin videos online.

And I'm not going to pretend there aren't.

But if you've ever searched for “how to start resin art”, you'll know that the problem isn't finding information.

It's knowing which information to follow.

One video recommends one resin.

Another recommends something completely different.

One creator uses one technique.

Another uses another.

Before long, you've watched ten videos, saved another twenty and you're still thinking:

“Right... but where do I actually start?”

That's why I've created this course.

I've brought the essential beginner information together and put it into a clear, practical learning journey.

You'll learn the basics...

Then you'll use those basics to make something.

And then you'll use what you've learned to try something different.

Less searching.

Less guesswork.

More creating.

THIS ISN'T ABOUT MAKING PERFECT COASTERS

And I want you to remember this.

Your first piece doesn't have to look like something made by an experienced resin artist.

You're learning.

You're experimenting.

You're discovering how the medium behaves.

And that's part of the fun.

The goal isn't perfection.

The goal is for you to finish your first project and think:

“I MADE THAT.”

And then...

“What could I make next?”

Because once you understand the basics, the possibilities start to open up.

The techniques you learn here can become the foundation for so much more.

You could go on to experiment with:

  • Resin artwork

  • Home décor

  • Trays

  • Larger pieces

  • Gifts

  • Decorative pieces

  • Resin and wood

  • Ocean-inspired designs

  • Your own completely original ideas

This course is simply your starting point.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

I'm Fiona, the artist behind FS Design Resin Artist.

I create handcrafted resin art and functional pieces here in Ireland, combining resin with beautiful materials and drawing much of my inspiration from the colours, movement and tranquillity of the ocean.

I've spent years learning how resin behaves — including the bits that don't always go according to plan.

And I've created this course to share that knowledge in a way that makes getting started feel much less intimidating.

You don't need to become a professional resin artist.

You don't even need to know whether resin is going to become your new obsession.

You just need to be curious enough to give it a try.
