How I make my Serving boards ….designed by nature, shaped by hand
I just wanted to come on and explain a bit about my process and the love that goes into making each and every one of your serving boards. Especially for you guys that are new to my work!
Handcrafted Wood & Resin Serving Boards – Designed by Nature, Shaped by Hand
Each of these serving boards begins long before it touches your table—with wood salvaged from local trees that have fallen with the seasons, weathered storms, or reached the end of their natural life.
Sustainably sourced and kiln-dried over 6–8 weeks to ensure lasting stability, the timber is chosen not just for its strength, but for the story carried in its grain.
Once shaped, every board is sanded by hand—again and again—until the surface is silky smooth and ready for resin. The resin is poured in its liquid state, flowing into the contours of the wood like water meeting land, then cured slowly over 48 hours. This careful layering adds depth, gloss, and an unmistakable sense of movement—each design unique, echoing the lines of the coast or the sweep of the sky.
After curing, the boards are finished with a food-safe mineral oil that draws out the warmth and richness of the wood. You'll receive a small tin of this oil with your board, so you can keep it nourished and beautiful for years to come. With time and use, the wood may naturally dry—an easy fix with a quick re-oiling.
These boards are designed to serve: cheeses, charcuterie, fresh bread, fruit—or simply to sit as a statement piece on your countertop. While the resin side is not suitable for cutting (it can mark under knives), the reverse can be used as a chopping surface—just place it on a tea towel to keep it steady and protect the finish.
Not dishwasher safe—these boards are made with care and meant to be cared for. A tactile, timeless addition to any kitchen or table.
