Shows and Surf Boards in Co Offaly
While the summer months can be nice and relaxing for some, it’s the beginning of the big push for me for the rest of the year.
I have 3 major events coming up over the next few months and then it’s straight into the mayhem of the Christmas season (sorry for saying the C word in July!)
First up is my favourite Show of the year, the Tullamore Show on the 10th of August. This is my “local” show so of course we have to support it but as I’ve been going to it since I was younger it’s almost like a homecoming.
I’m delighted to say that the National Ploughing Championships are back in Tullamore this September after a 7 years absence and I have a stand! I was looking back to the last time I had a stand at the ploughing and I think you’ll agree there is some difference between what I did make then and now. It’s definitely a bit more colourful!! The Ploughing runs from 16th-18th September and as it’s a 3 day show it’s very full on.
My final event will be Ballymaloe Christmas Fair 21st-24th of November. This always ends up being such a magical show as besides all the visitors it’s great to see other crafters and catch up on everyone’s news.
And the Surf Boards?? I took it into my head last week that I would make a couple of surf board shaped clocks and I have to say I’m pretty pleased with the results. No wetsuit or sun screen required with these guys, just crashing resin waves upon some stunning Irish beech hardwood.
Until next time xx
